 My 09h00-13h00

Me in my corporate/casual attire

I finally got an internship, which I am really enjoying as each day is different. Hmm.... However the corporate outfits that I put on each day never go quite as planned and maybe it's my lack of not wearing heels or the fact that I really do not have the budget down for an insane looking corporate wardrobe, I am trying to channel my inner Felicity Jones corporate/casual effort style in the romantic drama Like Crazy.

Though my look is not as sick as Felicity's in the movie, I think after my first paycheck big tings' will happen.

Road to the Oscars

Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren at the Golden Globes

So... We are less then a week away from the Oscars which take place on Sunday, 2 March 2014. Though I have tried to watch all of the films that were nominated some of which include American Hustle, Her, Labour Day and Gravity,I only got as far as watching The Wolf of Wall street because one, I do not believe in piracy and two, I too broke to go to Cinema Nouveau every Tuesday.

The point of this post is not to mainly to give thanks to some of the brilliant movies that hit our cinemas but the beautiful people or should I say person that graced our big screens late last year,12 Years of Slave actress Lupita Nyong'o.

In Dior couture at the BAFTA's
In Stella McCarthy at Producers Guild of America Awards

In as little as two months Lupita Nyong'o has become red carpet royalty and all I have to say is that I really can't wait to see what this beautiful, fresh faced, educated young lady pulls out on the Oscars red carpet.

Six style Commandments by KvD

Kat van Duinen is the founder of the this Cape Town based label that designs immaculately tailored pieces such a dresses, blouses and some of the most exquisite hand bags ever seen, and each Kat van Duinen piece embodies one simple rule-keep it simple. In this month's Glamour February issue Kat van Duinen shares key tips on pulling off minimalism style.

Kat van Duinen first key point describes the balancing of colours for example when daring to go bold always pair your outfit with a neutral colour and when wearing bright prints in a form of a dress or a top try balancing the palette with a  more toned down coloured accessory such as your shoes or handbag.
Secondly Ms Duinen shares with Glamour that one should consider proportions, for example if you are wearing something such as a blouse that has volume either on the sleeves or perhaps it has  a pussy bow, than make sure you pair it with a pencil skirt or sleek straight cut trousers. Then thirdly  van  Duinen shares with Glamour that one should opt for a somewhat light and breathable fabrics that flow, she makes an example of fabrics such as silk, cotton or linen. Furthermore remembering that less is more, when baring your cleavage make sure your bottom half is covered up and when showing off your pins, make sure your chest is covered .

Then minimalism rule number five is to invest in basics van Duinen goes on to share with Glamour some the key pieces that every lady should invest in such as a basic white top, navy blazer, scarves and a leather bag. Lastly the most crucial rule when opting for the minimalism look is to pay attention to detail, making sure that your nails are on point, make sure your hair is styled accordingly and a gorgeous bag is key!

Winter with a Kardashian

Confession session, with all that is going on in the world and having turned 21 last year in December I would have thought that by this age I would be more conscious about current affairs however I still have not gotten to that point in my life and I am still addicted to watching movies, reality shows and the only "news" channel is E!.

Having watched almost every single episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, each season I am blown away by Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian's fashion choices and also now days Kylie and Kendell Jenner are killin' it just as hard in the fashion front. But I must say out of all them the one lady that I am loving the most based on her fashion choices has to be Kourtney! Like my bio says, I love all things fashionably chic and Kourtney Kardashian does just that.

The main thing that I love about Kourtney's fashion is that not only does she not over conceptualise but she mixes and matches her winter items, creating various looks and playing it up with her accessories.

For me the main thing that I hate about winter is dressing up for it-winter gear is relatively expensive when  compared to all the other seasons so the best way to dress up a person's look is too play around with your Winter accessories such as scarves, beanies, cardies and a few pairs of boots and pumps to alternate your look.

Sorry for the Delay

To buy or not to buy

Finally hit the stores after a minute and i couldn't help but share a list with you guys of my most loved stores.

    Mr Price

        • The most accessible way to keep up with trends that cater to all different types of style that one might have. Let it be boho, skater or just plain glam girl chic that comes very cheap.

Woolworths

  • I love how the the concepts are just straight to the point. The people at Woolworth's know that a jean is a jean and a cardigan is just that. They rarely ever sensationalise their clothes and also great quality at a reasonable price.

  • I am not a fan of fashion labels, particularly because I cannot afford them but otherwise when I do have money to splurge, Edgars is my baby.
And lastly, when all else fails, mother's closet never fails.
